Last year Ireland announced that 2,000 artists will get €325 (£283) a week for the next 3 years to provide a basic income for creating and developing their work.

Creative Renfrewshire is partnering with Basic Income Conversation to hold events across the region to discuss what a basic income would mean for artists in Scotland and their creative practice, to bring together artists and arts organisations to consider the challenges for artists in Scotland and how a basic income might impact them and to explore what next steps we might want to take to make the case for a basic income for artists in Scotland.
