Who We Are

Dr. Elizabeth (Liz) Gardiner is the founder and director of Fablevision, a cultural social enterprise with over 40 years of experience. This background informed her PhD research and her two decades on the SENScot board. As a freelance consultant under Cultural Planning Practice, she specializes in cultural planning. In her role as a Post Doctoral Associate of the CCSE at the University of the West of Scotland, she investigates grassroots cultural planning in practice. As executive director of Fablevision, she develops case studies in collaboration with community organisations. As chair of Creative Renfrewshire, Liz has supported cultural networks locally,  linking and celebrating Renfrewshire’s cultural sector through international networks like the European River Cities Network.

Jackie promotes public health improvement through the integration of artists into the design and animation of healthcare environments and neighboring contexts. Originally trained in theatre design, she worked for a number of years in UK Theatres before studying an art in architecture MA and working as a teacher artist.  She joined NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in 2005 and continues as their lead for arts and health. 2016-2018 seconded to the Edinburgh and Lothians Health Foundation she managed the NHS Lothian environmental art and therapeutic design programme. Advisory roles include regional and national arts and creative health projects: Green Space Scotland’s Remembering Together National Covid Memorial project and more recently Creative Renfrewshire, Healing Arts Scotland 2024&26 and Scotland’s National Tapestry Trail.  Her main objective is to maintain influence to ensure there is a strategic integration of artists, community voices and partnerships in the improvement of social, emotional and physical environments. 

Margaret is a freelance business growth consultant and brings a huge range of commercial experience to Creative Renfrewshire’s Volunteer Board. Together with over 40 years’ experience as a Commercial Director in Household Textiles and Corporate Clothing (so no stranger to fabric, design, colour and the creative process) and a well-established local network, we hope she will help us deliver our strategic business plans. Margaret also played an integral role in the ‘Save Coats Memorial’ now thriving as a successful venue space for weddings and events.

Graham Jeffery is Professor in Arts and Media Practice at the University of the West of Scotland.  His research and practice focus on the relationships between arts, creativity and community development. Graham has led participatory arts projects in many different parts of the world, researching inclusive ways of sharing knowledge and strengthening social connections. He has worked in policy development, artist professional development and as a consultant for education and arts organisations, local authorities and governments. He aims to use this experience and expertise to help Creative Renfrewshire build opportunities for growth and strategic connections across the region and beyond.
