Rebecca (aka Dainty Dora) is a writer and designer influenced by her local surroundings, interpreting the culture of Glasgow, Paisley, the Scottish Highlands (where she grew up), and beyond, to create pattern designs and illustrations for prints, mugs, coasters, silk scarves and more.
Art forms: Painting, Design, Photography
Company: Dainty Dora Surface Pattern Design + Print
Pairing my bold and colourful hand-drawn pattern designs and illustrations – such as the iconic Paisley teardrop – with black and white/high contrast photography, I design ‘Pattern Bomb Prints’ to create a modern take on familiar and much-loved scenes with imagery and art that really ‘pops’. My illustrative work includes ‘A Cup of Paisley’, ‘Paisley Blooms’, ‘Paisley Puffin’ and ‘A Pint of Paisley’ to name a few. I produce these as prints, mugs, coasters, an annual Paisley calendar, and more. Colours/scenes can be altered to suit different tastes and bespoke commissions are welcome.
