Trading as Cultural Planning Practice, Liz Gardiner is a Doctoral Researcher, artist, teacher and free-lance consultant specialising in cultural planning. As a Doctoral Researcher and Associate Lecturer at the University of the West of Scotland, she develops and delivers continuing professional development modules in cultural planning. As executive director of the cultural social enterprise charity, Fablevision, she develops and delivers case study examples in practice – often in partnership with other third sector organisations, community development trusts or local authorities. She is currently supporting social enterprise development in Scotland via Senscot (Scotlands national network for social entrepreneurs) and chairs Creative Renfrewshire (a collaborative network of creatives in Renfrewshire.
Liz holds a Masters Research Degree in European Cultural Planning from De Montfort University in Leicester and is engaged in PhD research currently with the University of the West of Scotland, looking at the future for Post Industrial Waterfront Heritage Zones in Europe in collaboration with various local, national and UK wide projects as well as the pan European River Cities Network.
