They support filmmakers and share advice\, opportunities and tips on working in the UK screen industry. \nSonja Blietschau – Photography – Sonja is a photographer based in Scotland\, working primarily in headshots\, portraits\, and unit stills. She has over 20 years of experience in photography and has worked across different photographic genres\, such as events\, landscapes\, actors\, dancers. \nMarc Pye –  Screenwriter\, Playwright and Novelist. Marc has written for EastEnders\, Holby City\, Hollyoaks\, The Bill & River City. He is the author of four novels. His third feature film\, Dressers\, is in development with Junkyard Dog Films Ltd\, and he has a number of playwrights in development. \nHost: Gary J Hewitt – Writer & Director- Gary is a filmmaker\, screenwriter\, and festival director. His feature credits include the award-winning ‘The Defender’\, which was distributed on STV Player. His shorts have screened at OSCAR & BAFTA recognised festivals. He also runs The HB Film Festival and has worked as a film engagement manager and lecturer\, supporting Scotland’s creative community.

DESCRIPTION:‘On the theme of ‘Feel Good’\, join ReMode and fashion activist Niki Taylor for a weekend of creativity; creating bold and colourful prints inspired by nature; mindfully slowing down with some restorative drawing and stitching\, ending Sunday session with a fun ‘disco make’ – an opportunity for self expression through making a zero-waste garment ready for dressing up! \nDay 1 – Saturday 9th September 10.30-4.30pm – Lochwinnoch Park\, Lochlip Road\, PA12 4AF as part of the Lochwinnoch Feel Good Family Fun Day  \nWe will start by exploring nature and our locality within Lochwinnoch. Designers and artists find inspiration in many unexpected places\, we will explore\, draw and collage ideas to create your own printed patterns. Using block printing and screens we will upcycle fabrics to create bold\, expressive\, clashing colourful prints to make us feel brighter! \nDay 2 – Sunday 10th September 10.30-4.30pm – The Work Place\, 39 High Street\, Lochwinnoch\, PA12 4AB \nThere is an option to print fabric lengths or start to make your own zero-waste garment creations. Our Sunday Revolutionary ‘Disco-Make’ session will provide a fun day of making; sewing and expressing\, creating joy filled garments. Through a combination of machine and hand stitching techniques you will experiment\, make and play with shape\, colour and silhouettes ending a fun photoshoot to share the love of clothes and dressing up. \nPlease feel free to join us for the full weekend of ‘Make. Stitch. Play’ or either the Saturday or Sunday. No experience of drawing\, printing or sewing is required and all beginners and those curious to learn more and have fun through creative practice are welcome!’

DESCRIPTION:Make a rebellious fashion outfit using mending and printing with experimental milliner\, textile artist and arts activist Kengkeng Watt. \n\n\n\nAre you feeling fed up? Fed up of non-stop bad news about warming oceans; wildfires; floods; species going extinct; the cost of living crisis; new oil licenses; racist incidents; wars or corruption? \n\n\n\nCome and spend the weekend making a rebellious outfit from reclaimed textiles and express your feelings through creative textile practices with others who are dealing with similar feelings of despair and frustration. \n\n\n\nUsing mending\, patching\, repairing and sewing techniques we will make outfits which represent our love and care towards humanity and the planet. Also try your hand at block printing and screen printing protest slogans and designs\, and create wearable artworks which call for change! \n\n\n\nTaking place on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd September\, you can choose to sign up to the full weekend or either the Saturday or Sunday. No sewing or printing experience necessary and all beginners and those curious to learn more are welcome.

You’ll learn so much about the history and heritage of Renfrewshire. \nOur towns and villages always have lots of participating venues. It might be a building near your home. Somewhere you’ve driven past and always wondered what it looks like inside. \nThis weekend is always one of our local favourites. A chance to get inside private or hidden spaces. In the past\, visitors have had the chance to climb church towers\, delve into hidden underground drains\, and take part in heritage skills workshops. \nEach year is different\, and the buildings taking part each put on their own activities as part of the celebrations. Doors Open Days is coordinated nationally by the Scottish Civic Trust and is part of European Heritage Days alongside Scottish Archaeology Month\, coordinated by Archaeology Scotland. Both are supported by Historic Environment Scotland. This year’s shared European Heritage Days theme is Living Heritage.

DESCRIPTION:Are you thinking of applying for funding for your practice\, project\, or a collaboration and don’t know where to start? Do you know the basics\, but would like to improve your skills? Perhaps you don’t know where to even find funds in the first place? \nThis practical online workshop led by Briana Pegado will take you through the process of writing a successful funding application. It aims to cover all aspects of structuring your application and offer top tips and advice to ensure that your submissions have every chance of success. The workshop will focus on: \n\nHow to talk about yourself and your practice using a personal values compass\nHow to write a good funding application based on a strong proposal\nHow to think about evaluating and monitoring your impact as an artist \nHow to budget\, including how to calculate in-kind costs\nResources you can use to guide you\nA very quick intro to different types of funding and fundraising\n\nThis 2.5 hour Zoom workshop will involve some practical writing exercises\, so bring along something to write or type with. There will also be Q+A\, where we will be encouraging questions and discussion from participants. There may be an opportunity for you to discuss your work with a partner in virtual breakout rooms\, but if you would prefer not to work 1:1\, Briana can adapt the workshop to the collective’s needs. \nWorkshop leader\, the amazing Briana Pegado\, is an artist and author of Make Good Trouble: A Guide to the Energetics of Disruption. She works as an anti-racism facilitator and consultant for arts organisations including Glasgow International\, the Glasgow Connected Arts Network\, and Africa In Motion Festival.
